How to Mix Epoxy Resin Correctly: Ratio, Mixing Time, Bubbles and Curing

Accurate measurement and thorough mixing are two of the most important steps in epoxy resin work.
1. Read the product ratio
Check whether the manufacturer's ratio is by weight or volume. These are not automatically interchangeable.
2. Prepare your workspace
Keep your mould, pigments, decorative elements and tools ready before combining components. Once mixed, working time is limited by pot life.
3. Measure accurately
Use clean, dry measuring equipment. Small errors can become significant in a two-component system.
4. Mix slowly and thoroughly
Scrape the sides and bottom of the cup repeatedly. Stir at a controlled speed and follow the specified mixing time.
5. Add colour carefully
Use pigments intended for resin and stay within recommended limits. Browse resin pigments.
6. Pour into a prepared mould
Make sure the mould is clean, dry and level. Pour slowly and respect layer guidance.
7. Manage bubbles
Use only the bubble-control method appropriate for your resin. Excessive heat can damage the surface or mould.
8. Let the resin cure
Do not demould early just because the surface feels firm. Follow the full-cure guidance for the exact resin.
